Fine aggregate, different from flake
Quartz systems use a fine aggregate construction rather than decorative flakes or coarse resin-bound stone. Aggregate choice, broadcast build and sealing affect installed texture.
Consider use before appearance
Suitable interior and commercial applications may benefit from a dense aggregate finish. Cleaning, moisture exposure, traffic and desired texture shape the recommendation.
Concrete evaluation comes first
Cracks, contamination, existing finishes and moisture are assessed. Mechanical preparation establishes the required profile; primer, binder and aggregate are compatible parts.
Texture must work with maintenance
More texture is not automatically better. Discuss water, footwear, cleaning equipment and accessibility requirements. Wet or contaminated surfaces still require appropriate care.
Quartz versus natural stone
Quartz normally presents a finer, denser aggregate character. Resin-bound natural stone uses a coarser visual scale and different binder/aggregate approach.
Site review and the next step
Share room use, approximate area and current surface photos. We review exposure, slab conditions, joints, edges and return-to-service needs before confirming a build.
