A continuous finish rather than decorative aggregate
Solid-color coatings create a consistent color field. Unlike flake or quartz, the appearance does not depend on a decorative broadcast; unlike metallic, it does not rely on flowing pigment patterns.
Where solid color fits
Utility rooms, selected garages and commercial work areas may suit a clean, continuous finish. Traffic, cleaning, chemical exposure and desired traction determine whether a particular assembly is appropriate.
Preparation controls the result
Concrete is evaluated for moisture, cracks, contamination and existing coatings. Mechanical preparation and necessary repairs precede compatible primer and finish layers. A coating does not conceal structural movement or correct an unsuitable substrate.
Sheen and texture need a practical balance
A smooth finish can be easy to clean but may need additional texture for the intended use. Discuss water, footwear and maintenance rather than choosing by gloss alone. No coating makes wet or contaminated floors risk-free.
Colorado exposure and site conditions
Sunlight at doorways, slab temperature, winter residue and moisture influence product selection. Interior and exterior exposure require different review. Cure and return-to-service time depend on the selected system and actual conditions.
Plan the scope before final specification
Share approximate area, current surface photos and how the space is used. Key Construction reviews joints, repairs, thresholds, stairs and edges before confirming the assembly and final scope. Floor Studio provides a planning starting point, not a substitute for site verification.
